where: Roskilde, Denmark
When: Early July
Denmark might not be the first place Aussies think about going before they're 30. But when it's so close to London, full of friendly Danish who love getting their kit off and home to one of Europe's top three music Festivals, a visit is definitely recommend.
Roskilde was created in 1971 by two high school students, before being taken over by the Roskilde Foundation, which has since run the festival as a non-profit event focussed on the development and support of music, culture, and humanism.
Roskilde punters expect extraordinary and unique experiences. The festival therefore presents contemporary, legendary, progressive and innovative music. Bob Marley, U2, Talking Heads, Metallica, Green Day and Radiohead are a few of the countless artists who have performed at Roskilde over the years. Expect to see Coldplay, Oasis, Slipnot and Madness headline the festival in 2009.
No one cares how they look at Roskilde and uptight people are nowhere in sight. Expect to find plenty of naked people hangin' out, loving life and enjoying being under 30.
Tickets go on sale in December and are available to purchase online through www.billetlugen.dk or on the phone

Traditionally the campsite opens the last Sunday of June, which gives the festival guests plenty of time to settle in for a festival "warm up" which lasts four days. The festival officially starts the following Thursday at the Animal Showgrounds and lasts for a further four days.
There are 3 levels of tickets to purchase:
