Before you turn 30, you've gotta head to the Isle of Wight Festival, held on a tiny island in the English Channel that's only accessible by boat. The festival brings together around 60 thousand free spirited, music-loving friends and families in the beautiful surroundings of Seaclose Park, Newport.
The festival site includes a fun fare, plenty of chill-out areas (Ray Ban Rooms), a wide selection of bars and stalls (like the Zebra Bar and Champagne Garden), plus some exciting recent additions like the Guitar Hero Tent or the Bandstand – a stage exclusively for local Isle of Wight bands.
The annual Isle of White Festival started in 1968 and attracted legendary performers in its early days like Bob Dylan, Marc Bolan and Joan Baez. Since its revival in 2002 after a break, it's attracted the world's biggest bands, like the Rolling Stones, Sex Pistols and Kaiser Chiefs, and in 2009 will feature the Prodigy, Basement Jaxx, Pendulum and the Ting Tings.
