WHERE: Daresbury, Manchester, UK
WHEN: Late August
Northern England: home to the Scouser, Oasis, 24 Hour Party People, The Wombats, clubbing… and Creamfields – one of the biggest dance festivals in the UK.
Beginning life in 1998, it’s changed locations a couple of times, before finding a home amongst the rolling hills and meadows of Daresbury in Halton.
It set out to provide the clubbing world with a bespoke large-scale outdoor event and has gone on to become one of the most popular and renowned open-air electronic music festivals in the world. Famous for bringing together genre-breaking pioneers from across the DJ and live music spectrum, the structure of the festival features the enormously successful Live Outdoor Stage and up to ten DJ-only arenas.
Creamfields is one of England’s most prestigious dance festivals, with past headliners being the Chemical Brothers, Kasabian, Fatboy Slim, Pendulum and Basement Jaxx. With over a hundred DJs and 25 live acts in 14 different arenas, it’s a pretty cool event. And remember, it started out as just a humble club night in Liverpool.
